At the Georgia Tech Counseling Center (GTCC), I offer a number of different services to Georgia Tech students and the campus community.  These include:

(1) Initial Consultation.  When students come to our center, they are scheduled to meet with a counselor for a 45 minute session to help determine what services might be helpful.  I have written a guide for my initial consultation clients regarding how to get the most out of this consultation.  

(2) Individual Counseling: Individual counseling involves ongoing individual meetings with a counselor, often on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.  GTCC may be able to provide up to 16 sessions of individual counseling, depending on availability of openings and the appropriateness of the student for the services that we have available.  I’ve written an orientation for my individual counseling clients as well as a brief essay regarding how to get the most out of counseling.

(3) Doctoral Thesis Support Group:  I lead a support group for doctoral students who are experiencing the challenge of completing their dissertations. 

(4) Assessment Services:  I serve as the coordinator of our center’s Assessment Program for our center.  One of our primary services is to provide consultations and screenings for students who are having difficulties with academic performance, learning, or concentration, and who may be  may be concerned that they have Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or a Learning Disorder (LD).  

(5) Life skills workshops and seminars:  Our center offers a number of single session workshops and multisession seminars that are an excellent way of learning essential life coping skills.  

(6) Consultation services:  For faculty and staff and friends and family of Georgia Tech students.

(7) Supervision & training:  At GTCC I supervise and participate in the training of graduate students in counseling and psychology.
